ānumānikamapyēkēṣāmiti cēnna śarīrarūpakavinyastagṛhītērdarśayati ca .. 1.4.1 ..

ānumānikamapi anumānanirūpitamapi pradhānam, ēkēṣāṅ śākhināṅ śabdavadupalabhyatē; kāṭhakē hi paṭhyatē -- 'mahataḥ paramavyaktamavyaktātpuruṣaḥ paraḥ' iti; tatra ya ēva yannāmānō yatkramāśca mahadavyaktapuruṣāḥ smṛtiprasiddhāḥ, ta ēvēha pratyabhijñāyantē; tatrāvyaktamiti smṛtiprasiddhēḥ, śabdādihīnatvācca na vyaktamavyaktamiti vyutpattisaṅbhavāt, smṛtiprasiddhaṅ pradhānamabhidhīyatē; atastasya śabdavattvādaśabdatvamanupapannam; tadēva ca jagataḥ kāraṇaṅ śrutismṛtinyāyaprasiddhibhya iti cēt, naitadēvam -- na hyētatkāṭhakavākyaṅ smṛtiprasiddhayōrmahadavyaktayōrastitvaparam. na hyatra yādṛśaṅ smṛtiprasiddhaṅ svatantraṅ kāraṇaṅ triguṇaṅ pradhānam, tādṛśaṅ pratyabhijñāyatē; śabdamātraṅ hyatrāvyaktamiti pratyabhijñāyatē; sa ca śabdaḥ -- na vyaktamavyaktamiti -- yaugikatvāt anyasminnapi sūkṣmē sudurlakṣyē ca prayujyatē; na cāyaṅ kasmiṅścidrūḍhaḥ; yā tu pradhānavādināṅ rūḍhiḥ, sā tēṣāmēva pāribhāṣikī satī na vēdārthanirūpaṇē kāraṇabhāvaṅ pratipadyatē; na ca kramamātrasāmānyātsamānārthapratipattirbhavati, asati tadrūpapratyabhijñānē; na hyaścasthānē gāṅ paśyannaśvō.yamityamūḍhō.dhyavasyati. prakaraṇanirūpaṇāyāṅ cātra na paraparikalpitaṅ pradhānaṅ pratīyatē, śarīrarūpakavinyastagṛhītēḥ śarīraṅ hyatra ratharūpakavinyastamavyaktaśabdēna parigṛhyatē; kutaḥ? prakaraṇāt pariśēṣācca. tathā hyanantarātītō grantha ātmaśarīrādīnāṅ rathirathādirūpakaklṛptiṅ darśayati -- 'ātmānaṅ rathinaṅ viddhi śarīraṅ rathamēva tu. buddhiṅ tu sārathiṅ viddhi manaḥ pragrahamēva ca.. indriyāṇi hayānāhurviṣayāṅstēṣu gōcarān. ātmēndriyamanōyuktaṅ bhōktētyāhurmanīṣiṇaḥ' iti; taiścēndriyādibhirasaṅyataiḥ saṅsāramadhigacchati, saṅyataistvadhvanaḥ pāraṅ tadviṣṇōḥ paramaṅ padamāpnōti -- iti darśayitatvā, kiṅ tadadhvanaḥ pāraṅ viṣṇōḥ paramaṅ padamityasyāmākāṅkṣāyām, tēbhya ēva prakṛtēbhyaḥ indriyādibhyaḥ paratvēna paramātmānamadhvanaḥ pāraṅ tadviṣṇōḥ paramaṅ padaṅ darśayati -- 'indriyēbhyaḥ parā hyarthā arthēbhyaśca paraṅ manaḥ. manasastu parā buddhirbuddhērātmā mahānparaḥ.. mahataḥ paramavyaktamavyaktātpuruṣaḥ paraḥ. puruṣānna paraṅ kiṅcitsā kāṣṭhā sā parā gatiḥ' iti; tatra ya ēvēndriyādayaḥ pūrvasyāṅ ratharūpakakalpanāyāmaśvādibhāvēna prakṛtāḥ, ta ēvēha parigṛhyantē, prakṛtahānāprakṛtaprakriyāparihārāya. tatra indriyamanōbuddhayastāvatpūrvatra iha ca samānaśabdā ēva; arthāstu yē śabdādayō viṣayā indriyahayagōcaratvēna nirdiṣṭāḥ, tēṣāṅ cēndriyēbhyaḥ paratvam, indriyāṇāṅ ca grahatvaṅ viṣayāṇāmatigrahatvam iti śrutiprasiddhēḥ; viṣayēbhyaśca manasaḥ paratvam, manōmūlatvādviṣayēndriyavyavahārasya; manasastu parā buddhiḥ -- buddhiṅ hyāruhya bhōgyajātaṅ bhōktāramupasarpati; buddhērātmā mahānparaḥ -- yaḥ, saḥ 'ātmānaṅ rathinaṅ viddhi' iti rathitvēnōpakṣiptaḥ. kutaḥ? ātmaśabdāt, bhōktuśca bhōgōpakaraṇātparatvōpapattēḥ; mahattvaṅ cāsya svāmitvādupapannam; athavā -- 'manō mahānmatirbrahmā pūrbuddhiḥ khyātirīśvaraḥ. prajñā saṅviccitiścaiva smṛtiśca paripaṭhyatē' iti smṛtēḥ, 'yō brahmāṇaṅ vidadhāti pūrvaṅ yō vai vēdāṅśca prahiṇōti tasmai' iti ca śrutēḥ. yā prathamajasya hiraṇyagarbhasya buddhiḥ, sā sarvāsāṅ buddhīnāṅ paramā pratiṣṭhā; sēha mahānātmētyucyatē; sā ca pūrvatra buddhigrahaṇēnaiva gṛhītā satī hirugihōpadiśyatē, tasyā apyasmadīyābhyō buddhibhyaḥ paratvōpapattēḥ; ētasmiṅstu pakṣē paramātmaviṣayēṇaiva parēṇa puruṣagrahaṇēna rathina ātmanō
grahaṇaṅ draṣṭavyam, paramārthatastu paramātmavijñānātmanōrbhēdābhāvāt; tadēvaṅ śarīramēvaikaṅ pariśiṣyatē; tēṣvitarāṇīndriyādīni prakṛtānyēva paramapadadidarśayiṣayā samanukrāmanpariśiṣyamāṇēnēhāntyēnāvyaktaśabdēna pariśiṣyamāṇaṅ prakṛtaṅ śarīraṅ darśayatīti gamyatē. śarīrēndriyamanōbuddhiviṣayavēdanāsaṅyuktasya hyavidyāvatō bhōktuḥ śarīrādīnāṅ rathādirūpakakalpanayā saṅsāramōkṣagatinirūpaṇēna pratyagātmabrahmāvagatiriha vivakṣitā; tathā ca 'ēṣa sarvēṣu bhūtēṣu gūḍhō.tmā na prakāśatē. dṛśyatē tvagryayā buddhyā sūkṣmayā sūkṣmadarśibhiḥ' iti vaiṣṇavasya paramapadasya duravagamatvamuktvā tadavagamārthaṅ yōgaṅ darśayati -- 'yacchēdvāṅmanasī prājñastadyacchējjñāna ātmani. jñānamātmani mahati niyacchēttadyacchēcchānta ātmani' iti; ētaduktaṅ bhavati -- vācaṅ manasi saṅyacchēt vāgādibāhyēndriyavyāpāramutsṛjya manōmātrēṇāvatiṣṭhēta; manō.pi viṣayavikalpābhimukhaṅ vikalpadōṣadarśanēna jñānaśabdōditāyāṅ buddhāvadhyavasāyasvabhāvāyāṅ dhārayēt; tāmapi buddhiṅ mahatyātmani bhōktari agryāyāṅ vā buddhau sūkṣmatāpādanēna niyacchēt; mahāntaṅ tvātmānaṅ śānta ātmani prakaraṇavati parasminpuruṣē parasyāṅ kāṣṭhāyāṅ pratiṣṭhāpayēditi ca. tadēvaṅ pūrvāparālōcanāyāṅ nāstyatra paraparikalpitasya pradhānasyāvakāśaḥ..
